  • Co-taught the sophomore game project class where we managed ~60 students who split into teams to create a working prototype, and then a fully produced game by the end of the year.

  • Ran workshops and gave crits to artists, designers, and audio designers, and programmers to direct students toward a shared vision, while managing expectations to keep scope realistic.

  • Nurtured and fostered emerging creative voices while still holding students to be responsible and communicative team members/students.

  • Wrote and gave lectures on art, story, and design to BFA students, as well as guest lecturing for the programmers and designers about working with artists.

Planning & Curriculum Development

Created grading guides and refined the assessment criteria to better evaluate students and communicate the expectations of the course.

Developed and managed methodologies to utilize teaching assistants in giving our students guidance and providing data on their progress.

Ensured that the curriculum developed for the course closely adhered to accreditation requirements as well as delineated clear learning objectives, assessments, and rubric outlines.

Developed course collaboratively with other instructors, both in a cross disciplinary setting with programmers and designers, as well as with other art instructors who co-taught the class.

Student Fun Times

Students being little stinkers during the covid remote learning days.
An unexpected gift created by student, Caleb Hesse. A compilation of all my unhinged draw-overs from that semester’s comics class.
